The Sindarin name for the first season of the Elves' year, equivalent to QuenyaTuilë and translatable as 'spring'. The calendars of the Elves kept the first day of the year as a separate holiday, Yestarë, but it was immediately followed by the season of spring, which lasted for fifty-four days until it was succeeded by Laer or summer. On a modern calendar, the season of Ethuil would have run from 29 March to 21 May.
