A term used to describe any of the languages of the Eldar, and especially Quenya and Sindarin.

This is the approximate date that the Eldar departed from Cuiviénen and thus became a separate division of the Elves. At this point it becomes meaningful to describe an independent 'Eldarin' language, though in its earliest phase it presumably differed little from the tongues of the Avari that remained behind in the East.
