An Elvish word used among the people of Beleriand, referring to a family of the strange woodland people known as the Drúedain (or later as Woses). This is a compound word, derived from the element Drú-, which distinguished the race of the Drúedain from the more familiar Edain, combined with the Sindarin noss, meaning an extended family or clan.
