A Hobbit family of which only a single member is recorded: Gilly Brownlock, who married Posco Baggins, a distantly related near-contemporary of Bilbo Baggins. The meaning of the family's name is not explained, but it presumably means 'brown-haired' as a description of the unknown founding Hobbit of the family.
