Almiel

The youngest daughter of Tar-Meneldur

The youngest of the three children of Meneldur and Almarian, born eleven years before her father became King Tar-Meneldur of Númenor. Her elder brother was Anardil, who was to succeed his father as Tar-Aldarion. Almiel lived through the historic times when the Númenóreans were rediscovering Middle-earth across the Sea, but if she had any part in the adventures of those times, no record of it remains.

Notes

1

The meaning behind Almiel's name is not explained, but it clearly contains the common feminine name-ending -iel ('daughter'). The first syllable probably derives from almë, 'blessing'.
